Project Spotlight: A Complete Lakeside Landscape Transformation
A beautiful lakeside property deserves an outdoor space that makes the most of its surroundings. For this project, the Green Scapes team completed a full landscape and hardscape transformation, combining premium materials, custom craftsmanship, and thoughtful design to create an outdoor living space that is as functional as it is beautiful.
From new retaining walls and lake access to a custom patio, fire pit, landscape lighting, plantings, and a completely refreshed front entry, every element was designed to complement the home and enhance how the property can be enjoyed.
Natural Stone Details at the Home
The transformation extended all the way to the home’s architecture. The front and rear foundation and pillars were veneered with natural stone, creating a cohesive connection between the home and the surrounding hardscape.
Custom Chateau Caps & Treads were incorporated to complete the look and provide a refined natural-stone finish.
Reimagining the Lakeside Hardscape
Creating safe, functional, and attractive access throughout the waterfront property was an important part of the project.
New 18″ Seneca Guillotine boulder retaining walls were installed, and the existing lake walls were reconstructed to provide long-lasting stability while maintaining a natural appearance appropriate for the waterfront setting.
Chateau Limestone steps and landings now provide seamless transitions to the lake, basement, and deck, while Rinox Japanese Path Stones create additional pathways and improve circulation throughout the property.
An Outdoor Gathering Space
A custom Techo-Bloc Blu 60 Random patio in Champlain Grey created a dedicated space for relaxing and entertaining outdoors.
At the center of the patio, a Rosetta Hardscapes Belvedere round fire pit provides a natural gathering point and allows the homeowners to enjoy the space well beyond the warmer daytime hours. Decorative #1 round limestone completes the surrounding hardscape.
A New Front Entrance
The transformation wasn’t limited to the lakefront.
A new 75-foot Techo-Bloc Blu 60 Random paver walkway in Champlain Grey leads guests to the home and creates a more welcoming front entrance. Custom Chateau Limestone steps complement the walkway and tie the front of the property into the natural materials used throughout the landscape.
Enjoying the Landscape After Sunset
Barcelona Solid Brass LED Path Lights were installed throughout the property to highlight walkways and landscape features while improving visibility after dark.
The lighting adds another layer to the design and allows the outdoor spaces to be enjoyed well into the evening.
Completing the Landscape
With the major hardscape elements in place, the final phase focused on bringing softness, texture, and color back into the property.
Planting beds were amended and enhanced with weathered limestone accent boulders and a custom mix of shrubs, ornamental grasses, and perennials. Sable Brown shredded hardwood mulch provides a finished appearance throughout the beds.
Complete lawn restoration, including new topsoil and sod, brought the entire property together.
The result is a cohesive lakeside landscape designed around the way the homeowners live, entertain, and enjoy their waterfront setting.
